Equestrian Camping & Trails

There are miles of groomed trails, and explore your own trails with hundreds of acres to roam. Ride through timber lined trails, wooded ravines, scenic prairie hilltops, open meadows and along spring fed streams and ponds. The beautiful Missouri River Bluffs offer miraculous views during any season. Enjoy oak lined trails during the heat of the day or adventure on a moonlight ride.
Our campsite has been updated with 12 electrical hook-ups. There are convienently located water hydrants. Clean outhouses, picnic tables and fire rings available.We have a limited number of small corrals to rent. Electrical fencing is welcomed, staking or picket lines in tree areas. There are also primitive sites available. Reservations are advised.
We welcome large groups , and can assist with arranging catered meals for long stays. Day riding is available, call ahead. All riders will be required to sign a release of liability agreement. Bring your own horse.Please call or email for rates and availability.

Nature Hiking & Wildlife Observation

With man-made trails along with natural trails, there are numerous hiking and nature observation opportunities at Turkey Creek Ranch. Wander through areas with wooded ravines, spring fed streams, grassy meadows, and native prairie hilltops. Experience the beauty of native wildflowers such as coneflowers, pasque flowers, Asters, Columbines; native trees include Burr Oak, Walnut, and Cottonwood, which create beautiful and shaded areas to rest. Many types of berries and various other fauna grow here as well. Wild raspberries, mulberries, strawberries, grapes, and ground cherries can be found with ease. Morel mushrooms can also be hunted when in season. Wildlife include deer, turkey, squirrels, badgers, raccoons, cotton-tailed rabbits, groundhogs, bull snakes, foxes, and frogs.

Bird Watcher’s Paradise

Available for private parties, clubs, or individuals! Enjoy the late night chorus of Whippoorwills and Great Horned Owls. There are many species to observe and discover besides the namesake, turkeys. We have hawks, bald eagles, cardinals, bluebirds, robins, meadow larks, nuthatches, woodpeckers, gnat catchers, warblers, and orioles, along with many more. Come and enjoy what is truly a bird watcher’s paradise.

Kayaking

River adventure expeditions on the ‘Wild & Scenic’ Missouri National Recreational River are available through Missouri River Expeditions. With guided kayak expeditions on multiple stretches of the Missouri River in South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, and Missouri, trips can range from a half-day to a whole week. Winter Activities

At Turkey Creek Ranch, the recreational excitement and enjoyment does not end with the winter months. Snowshoe or cross-country ski through over ten miles of beautiful Missouri River Bluffs trails, and then warm up next to our stone fireplace in the lodge. This is the winter destination for you.
